Mango Kale Protein Smoothie

As an endurance athlete and a vegan I am always looking for ways to increase my protein intake. This great-tasting and simple green smoothie provides 50 grams of protein and is rich in nutrients and anti-oxidants. Kale is one of the healthiest vegetables on the planet, and this smoothie makes for an incredible recovery drink after a long run!

1 ripe banana
3/4 cup frozen diced mango
3/4 cup frozen chopped kale
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1 scoop Plant-Based Protein Blend
2 TBL light agave nectar
soy milk, almond milk, or whatever you like! (enough to cover all the other ingredients)

Place all ingredients except soy milk into a blender in the order above. Add soy milk until the bananas begin to float. Blend really well, drink up, and feel great!

  3. isn’t almond milk healthier than soy milk?

    • Almond milk and soy milk can both be considered “healthy”. They are both good sources of protein, both are low in fat, they are both high in calcium. Almond milk tends to be lower in calories while soy milk usually contains more B vitamins. Some people are allergic to soy or worry about the hormonal effects of soy in their diet.

      It really comes down to a personal preference. I always choose almond milk because I like the nutritional content and I think it tastes better!
