Zesty Tahini Oil-Free Dressing

Zesty Tahini Oil-Free-Dressing

We have been trying a number of oil-free dressings lately and this one is definitely the best so far. It’s ridiculously simple, truly creamy, and just explodes with flavor. The recipe below makes enough for a few large salads but you may find yourself doubling it and using it every day (or is that just me?).

Try this and see if you don’t find yourself thinking about it all day… ๐Ÿ™‚

1 clove garlic, crushed
4 scallions, diced
6 Tbsp sesame tahini
4 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
4 Tbsp lemon juice
4 Tbsp water
1/2 tsp salt
Fresh cracked black pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth and creamy. You may need to add a little water to reach your desired consistency, keeping in mind it will thicken in the fridge.

  1. Thanks for this recipe! I am wondering, however, how much this recipe makes or how much constitutes as “one serving?”

  2. I love this recipe dressing! Thank you! I like to add Sriracha hot sauce for a little heat.

  3. Hi there, looks like a great reciepe, Im a tad confused though! one of the ingrediants is sesame tahini, does that mean ground sesame? it seems all the tahini reciepes I find do contain oil, am I missing something?
    thanks

    • Hi Lacey! Tahini is usually just ground, toasted sesame seeds and salt. You are correct however, there is naturally occurring oil from the sesame seeds in tahini.

  4. Looks yummy. How long would this keep in the fridge for?

    • Hi Amanda! I honestly don’t know how long it lasts; it’s never in my fridge that long! ๐Ÿ™‚ We use this several times a week so I’ve only had it around for a week or two with no problems.

  5. […] know Iย loveย healthy, oil-free blender salad dressings. Here’sย a great recipe for Zesty Tahini Dressing to mix up your salad […]

    • I would suggest using a less amount of tahini. 70% of the cals of this dressing is from fat. Would not concider it to be “healthy”. Maybe once in a while.

  6. This is what Ive been looking for! Creamy and flavorful. I only added 1 T. Lemon juice.

  7. We loved this dressing, too! I served it over some chopped kale, romaine lettuce, and shredded red cabbage. This recipe is a keeper. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. This is our new favorite dressing. We coat kale pieces in this and dehydrate them to make great kale chips. Just one quibble: the name would be better to say: No Oil Added as tahini is full of sesame oil.
